Another Flatcoat puppy in Telluride!

Another Flatcoated Retriever puppy!  What are the odds?  I am beginning to feel as if I should be a Flatcoat photographer and not a Telluride dog photographer!  My friend in Denver sent his friend Mary and her new four month old puppy, officially Wingmaster’s Nitro Express, otherwise known as Nitro, down to Telluride for a photo session.  That she would drive so far for a session with me was a bit daunting, I have to admit.  The pressure went away immediately though, as once as I met Nitro….or Mr. Personality, I should say.   Check out this cutie….

As you can tell, we had headed straight to the river.  Well, Nitro did.  That wasn’t my original plan.  But as you can see, Nitro has NO fear of water and it looks as if some dock diving may be in his future!

Don’t worry everyone, Nitro showed us several times he was very good at holding his breath!

King of the waterfall!

Boy, that water made him frisky!  He was happy playing alone until he noticed how interesting I was with my head so close to the ground.  We had a few moments of puppy attacks!

The introduction of the wubba toy only added to the excitement.

Good boy, Nitro….I am sure your mom doesn’t want ALL action shots.   Amazing what a few treats will do when needed.

Oh, my….the deceiving sweetness…..  😉

Hey, whatcha doing on the ground again?????

We headed to a different, drier location, since I was also pretty sure that Nitro’s mom wanted some photos where her puppy wasn’t sopping wet.

This place was exciting too….lots of bird smells, and tall grass to hide in.

There was no getting his attention when he smelled a bird.  A good hunting dog in the making…..

A perfect retrieve over a hilltop!

Huh, what now?  Oh, such a puppy.  Gotta LOVE those ears!

And you were waiting for my beauty shot….this one is not only of Nitro, but Telluride, as well.  We were very lucky during this session, since Mary was only staying one day.  It rained all day the day before she arrived, and all day the day after.  It was meant to be, little Nitro!  Thanks Mary for driving so far, and I cannot wait to see how he grows up.  Hope you enjoyed your sneak peak – I will have your gallery soon!

Vicki Peterson Truly wonderful photos! Love the action shots!

Susan Blackburn WOW!! Those are beautiful shots of a gorgeous puppy!! You have an awesome eye Jen!

Carolyn Love the tall grass shots. I met him and he is a pistol. Beautiful photos and beautiful day. You surely did luck out with the weather.

Greg Mathsi Wonderful. Many of the shots he looks like his regal father, Kasper

Lauar Beck Love all these photos! Nitro look like a wonderful flattie!

Don Freeman What an incredible bunch of pictures! Trying to pick a favorite would be impossible, but the one with him running in with the red toy and ears up is truly a winner. We train with Nitro, and his name really fits, as Jen obviously found out. Watch for Nitro and Mary to go far in the field.

Debi Wirh OMG – he has already grown so much, but still the cutest thing ever! I want to see him soon before he is completely grown!! Beautiful pictures – really captured his personality and beauty!!

Liza Wow! GREAT photo session! GORGEOUS puppy! Every shot was incredible. I’m looking forward to seeing him grow.

Karen What a darling! Fabulous shots, especially of him running! (& I love that big-nosed shot too!)

Cathy Lynch The Wubba shots are priceless!!
