Neighborhood doggie party!

After I finished Willow, Shelby and Blake’s shoot, we noticed all the dogs out in the neighbor’s front yards.  Well, I just couldn’t resist a few shots before heading home.  Gretchen stole Sparky out of his own home to join in….

Gretchen was smothering him with love….Sparky is pleading “please!  don’t hold me so close!”

But he warmed up a bit (although I think a bit confused as to where his owners were)!  Is this not one of the cutest faces ever?

And then there was Ralph.   Ralph was special… I don’t know his story but he walked right up to me, made direct eye contact right away, and had a very calm, gentle manner.  He is an old soul, for certain.  He has lots to say, I think.

And finally, Alex.   Oh, my.  Alex was obsessed with her icky fur covered rag toy the entire time.  She has lots of drive and I think she would be a great agility dog if given a chance (especially if given her icky fur covered toy at the end of her runs)!  She has the most stunning blue eyes, which sadly, were hard to capture due to the low light and the fact that she wouldn’t stop moving….stalking, chasing and tossing her fur toy.  Covered in slobber.  Ick.

I’m glad I got the extra time with some fun dogs.  What a fabulous neighborhood to live in, everyone hangs out in their front yards, not their backyards, and all the dogs get along, unlike most suburban areas where dogs are sometimes lucky if they even get to leave the backyard, much less interact with other dogs on a daily basis.  These dogs were sooo fabulous.   Thanks all the owners involved for indulging me!

Brenda Sounds like a wonderful neighborhood to live in! Love Sparky’s expression in that first one…..no doubt that he doesn’t want to be close. 🙂 Ralph does look like a gentle old soul. Such a sweet looking guy. Alex’s eyes are stunning! She can keep her icky fur covered rag…..ewwww slobber. 🙂 Your photos are fabulous. You do such a great job capturing the personality and uniqueness of each dog.

Carolyn Great photos. I love Sparky’s concern in the first shot. He knows he is not supposed to be out of his house with this person. Too cute.

Lynda Spangler These are so fun Jen. This sounds like a great place to hang out. I love all of the dogs, but something about Ralph tugs my heart strings. Glad you had a fun shoot.

Poochie Freak I think I might be a little bit in love with Ralph!
