Goldens brighten up Telluride

Yep!  More Goldens!  I was really excited to photograph these two, as I have known their owners for years, and when they got a new puppy I knew I could reel them in.  🙂  They only live part time in Telluride, so I wasn’t able to meet Gus when he was a little pup, but at 7 months old, he still had plenty of puppy attitude.  Shami, his older sister, is an absolute doll at 11 years old, and has the loveliest side movement I have seen on a dog her age.   She is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve met, and as much fun as Gus was, I would have stolen Shami in a heartbeat if it wasn’t so obvious this was a very bonded family with none of the grouchy behavior some older dogs show to puppies.

Lets do this right.  Meet Gus!

He can be a wild man, but was also very curious about the new smells on the river trail.
We chose an interesting day to have the session at the river – the ice was just barely frozen over, creating a beautiful reflective surface that Gus was very intrigued by.   And yes, at one point he did fall in.  Not that he cared.  🙂

This photo just cracked me up, sorry Gus!  Did you get something in your eye?

Shami was hanging around the river for most of the time, also.
And they did a little exploring together!

Gus finds some interest in a bird downstream….

While Shami strikes a pose!  I’m telling you, this girl is the Grace Kelly of dogs.

Oh but wait.  She does know how to cut loose, and is an expert at snow rolling.

Meanwhile, Gus decides to strut his stuff.  I do believe he is going to be one handsome dog!

His mom made sure that I was aware she wanted photos of him running.  Ummmmm…..not a problem.  😉

We’ll end with a beauty shot of Gus and Shami together, with the stunning backdrop of the Telluride box canyon.  Thank you so much to two of my favorite customers!  I loved photographing Gus and Shami, they are both such good dogs.  I hope you are enjoying your gallery, and I’m sure I will see you both soon!  XO to Shami and Gus!

Carolyn What great photos. Love the one of Gus standing on the ice looking down. It’s like he is seeing something in the water or just expecting to fall through any moment. He has the prettiest face. I also love this last one of the two of them together.

Krista Kersh These photos are pure magic, Jen!!! Love those Golden Wonder Dogs in the snow!

Don This is a fantastic shoot! There is nothing that portrays happiness more than a retriever rolling or playing in the snow, and these pictures capture it. I couldn’t choose a favorite. There are so many.
