Session Rates

Telluride Sessions are $250

Perfect for a new puppy, an older dog that doesn’t have the stamina for a full two hour session,  as a gift, or just because you don’t have time for two days of shooting!  I know many of my clients don’t live here, and this is a fun, short session that still provides you with lifelong memories.

Telluride Sessions include:

— Up to 1 hour of shooting time for one pet ($30 additional to add a pet).

— One location in the town of Telluride (typically the river trail for great mountain views and the added benefit of a crystal clear stream).

— Careful editing of the best images from your session.

— A sneak peak of some of my favorite images on my blog.

— A private ordering gallery of a minimum of 40 images, provided in approximately three to four weeks.

— If needed, a private ordering session.

Telluride / Mountain Village Sessions are $395

Dual sessions include:

— Up to 2 hours shooting time for up to two pets and two people.

— Two locations for a variety of images.  This generally will take place on two separate days.

— Careful editing of the best images from your session.

— A sneak peak of some of my favorite images on my blog.

— A private ordering gallery of a minimum of 60 images, provided in approximately four weeks.

— If needed, a private ordering session.

What you are paying for….

You are paying for outdoor custom pet photography which is physically taxing as well as time consuming.  I do not have the luxury of controlling my lighting conditions in a studio, in which case there would be minimal processing of the images.  Lighting changes constantly outdoors, and editing photos is time consuming.  I take hundreds of shots.  It takes hours to chose the best ones, check focus, adjust white balance, clone out distracting objects, get rid of eye goobers, adjust color….sound involved?  It is.  Rather than have clients question my pricing, I would rather be upfront that although I LOVE photographing dogs, the process is a lot of work, especially the post processing time spent on your images.  The actual time I spend with your dog having fun is the smallest percentage of time spent on your session.   This isn’t always obvious, since you won’t see before and after examples of transformed photos.

The Fine Print

To book either session, a $50 non-refundable deposit (cash or check) is required to hold your time slot.  This deposit is applied toward your session fee.  Sessions can be rescheduled one time without penalty if 24 hours notice is provided.    There is no penalty if the session is rescheduled due to weather conditions.  The remainder of the session fee is due at the beginning of the shoot, and if you prefer to pay that portion with a credit card, it can be paid for at the Mountain Tails store prior to the session.

Print and Products are sold separately.  Please see “Products” page for more information, and I highly recommend dropping by Mountain Tails to view products.

Add $30 for each additional pet.

I am happy to provide references from previous clients, and please don’t hesitate to inquire if you feel you have a special situation!
