Okay, TWO crazy dogs and one regal dog. I photographed Walter and George a few years ago, and when their owner’s sister came out to visit with all three of her dogs, she was coerced into booking a session with me. Well, I hope it wasn’t THAT hard! She wanted the full-on, mountain snow experience, so she chose to forgo the river trail and head up the mountain to the deep stuff. It was an interesting session, one of my more difficult ones because her dogs are so bonded to her, they didn’t venture very far away. In the end, this ended up in some really fun shots of her with the dogs, which sometimes doesn’t happen at all during a session. You won’t see many of those here, because I don’t like to post photos of clients without their permission. First out of the car…..Roscoe! Roscoe is a 12 year old Rottie/Golden mix, and was very calm and regal for most of the session, but he is absolutely gorgeous.
Handsome boy, right? I call him the supervising type – he was surveying his terrain the entire time. Very comfortable with himself.
Next up, Roux! Roux is a one year old Pit mix, a bit wary but as you’ll see later she warmed up a bit. I would love to know what she is mixed with, I loved her brindle markings but she is leggy and has the silly tail…don’t take offense Wendy! I have a few where it looks like a puff ball over her head. lol
And then Rhubarb! A very active two year old, possibly a Border Collie/Lab mix. Would make a great agility dog! Rhubarb and Roux are the same size and when running around in the snow, I would have a hard time telling them apart, but the difference is so obvious in photos!
Oh, lets just give you the full-on Rhubarb experience.
What, the snow doesn’t taste fresh enough for you?
The Bumi toy that Wendy brought was very popular. 🙂 Roux takes advantage of Rhubarb becoming interested in something else and trots off with it.
We did get some scenic shots, as well….and coming from someone who owns a very active dog, the dogs don’t have to be standing still for the photographs to be scenic! 🙂
And a few photobombs, too. Look under Roscoe for a peek of what I was TRYING to photograph.
Time for some rough-housing! Roux and Rhubarb are experts. I think they could have stayed forever, just playing.
Phew! After that, it was time to break out the wide angle lens for some more sedate shots.
Oh, look who is interested in me when I am flat on my stomach! Roux, you are a nut.
And then Roux turns into a supermodel!
Ending with a shot of Roscoe, too dignified to act like those silly puppies. Thanks Wendy for the fun day! I am almost done with your gallery so you should have it in a few days! Next time you are in town, bring the pups into the store for a treat!
